The Bachelor’s Programme in Tourism (BA) at UBT is built upon strong and continuous collaboration with the tourism, hospitality, and visitor economy industries, ensuring that the educational process reflects the latest sector developments and the real demands of the labour market. The Faculty actively engages partners from the private sector, public institutions, and professional organisations in the design, development, and continuous enhancement of the study programme, ensuring that the intended learning outcomes remain aligned with industry needs.
The programme curriculum and learning outcomes have been developed through consultations with business associations, tourism enterprises, and members of the Programme’s Industrial Board. These consultations highlighted the need for highly qualified professionals capable of communicating and collaborating in international environments, as well as implementing modern tourism development strategies. The contribution of stakeholders has been essential in the continuous improvement of the curriculum and its alignment with evolving market demands.
In line with its mission, the Faculty of Tourism maintains continuous cooperation with industry by offering, in addition to the study programme, professional training, certification opportunities, and skills development activities. This collaboration aims to prepare students for the labour market through the continuous updating of the curriculum, the integration of modern technologies, and the development of competencies required by employers.
A key component of the programme is professional internship, which enables students to apply theoretical knowledge in real working environments. To support this objective, UBT has established the Centre of Expertise for Hospitality and Tourism, where students undertake professional practice, develop competencies in accordance with contemporary industry standards, and gain valuable practical experience that enhances their employability.
The Faculty’s partnership with industry is further reflected in the organisation of study visits, guest lectures delivered by industry experts, professional seminars, conferences, and other activities that build strong links between students and prospective employers. Through these initiatives, students become familiar with best industry practices, technological developments, and the contemporary challenges facing the tourism and hospitality sectors.
The programme also aims to contribute to the economic and social development of Kosovo by preparing highly qualified professionals capable of supporting private sector growth, promoting investment in tourism, and improving business models within the industry. Through close collaboration with institutional partners and industry stakeholders, the Faculty creates an environment where education, scientific research, and professional practice are integrated to provide students with a comprehensive and sustainable academic experience.
