Aims and Objectives

The Bachelor’s Programme in Tourism (BA) at UBT is fully aligned with the institutional mission of UBT, promoting excellence in teaching, learning, and scientific research within an inclusive environment where students are at the centre of the academic process. The programme aims to educate distinguished graduates who are prepared to assume leadership roles in the business sector, the tourism industry, public service, and society. At the same time, it contributes to the creation and transfer of knowledge, supporting educational and professional development in both national and international contexts.

The programme provides advanced knowledge in the field of tourism by combining academic education with international expertise and fostering a collaborative environment among students, academic staff, administration, and the wider community. Through this approach, students gain a learning experience that promotes professional development, academic interaction, and active community engagement.

The primary objective of the programme is to educate highly qualified experts and specialists in the practical fields of tourism. The programme has a strong applied orientation and aims to equip students with professional skills and in-depth knowledge of tourism, providing the foundation for a successful professional career. The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experience, fostering students’ critical and creative thinking while exposing them to contemporary issues and the key challenges of the tourism industry through modern teaching methods and academic best practices.

The programme supports UBT’s institutional mission by creating continuous opportunities for academic development, scientific research, and internationalisation. It bridges theory and practice, enabling students to take responsibility for their own learning while simultaneously contributing to the advancement of the University’s mission and strengthening collaboration with the community and industry. The Faculty of Tourism is also committed to providing professional training, certifications, and professional development programmes that prepare students to meet labour market demands through the continuous adaptation of study programmes and the use of modern technologies.

The programme incorporates contemporary business practices together with the latest technological, scientific, and pedagogical developments, ensuring alignment with the needs of Kosovo’s economy and tourism sector. One of its primary goals is to offer a modern academic programme that contributes to the development of human capital and prepares graduates for both the national and international labour markets. Through knowledge of tourism economics, management, business, and tourism investment promotion, the programme contributes to Kosovo’s economic and social development while enhancing the competitiveness of the private sector.
