Students are at the heart of the academic philosophy of the Bachelor’s Programme in Tourism (BA) at UBT. The programme is built upon a student-centred approach, creating an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive learning environment that fosters students’ academic, professional, and personal development. The relationship between students and academic staff is based on partnership, with both parties sharing responsibility for achieving the intended learning outcomes and developing professional competencies.
At the beginning of each academic year, students participate in orientation sessions organised by the Faculty, where they are introduced to the study programme, learning outcomes, curriculum, assessment system, academic timetable, and the University’s student support services. During these sessions, students receive the Student Handbook, which provides comprehensive information on the organisation and successful completion of their studies.
To ensure continuous communication and easy access to information, students use the Student Portal and the University’s digital platforms, where they can access learning materials, academic announcements, timetables, examination results, and administrative information. Important updates and notifications are communicated regularly through the Student Portal and institutional email, ensuring that students remain well informed throughout their studies.
The programme places particular emphasis on the active involvement of students in the learning process, scientific research, and professional activities. Students are encouraged to participate in academic projects, professional internships, conferences, seminars, study visits, and activities organised in collaboration with industry partners, enabling them to develop practical and professional competencies that enhance their employability.
UBT provides a comprehensive range of student support services, including academic advising, administrative assistance, a modern library, state-of-the-art laboratories, the Student Centre, the Career Centre, and the Centre of Expertise for Hospitality and Tourism. These services create an optimal environment for students’ academic and professional development while facilitating their successful transition into the labour market.
The University also promotes academic mobility, international cooperation, and student participation in extracurricular activities, providing opportunities for cultural exchange, the development of intercultural competencies, and the expansion of professional perspectives. Through these initiatives, the Bachelor’s Programme in Tourism aims to educate responsible, competent, and competitive graduates who are well prepared to contribute to the development of the tourism industry in Kosovo and internationally.
