The Bachelor’s Programme in Tourism (BA) at UBT is a contemporary and multidisciplinary programme developed in accordance with the standards of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), and the Kosovo National Qualifications Framework (NQF). The programme is designed to respond to the needs of a continuously evolving tourism industry by providing high-quality, innovative education with a strong emphasis on professional practice.
In line with UBT’s mission, the programme aims to create an inclusive learning environment with the student at the centre of the educational process, where excellence in teaching, scientific research, and collaboration with industry form the cornerstones of academic development. The Faculty of Tourism is committed to preparing graduates who are ready to assume leadership roles in the private sector, public institutions, and national and international organisations, thereby contributing to the country’s economic and social development.
The programme harmoniously integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experience, providing students with opportunities to develop professional, managerial, entrepreneurial, and digital competencies. Through a practice-oriented approach, students acquire expertise in destination management, hospitality management, travel agencies, tourism marketing, tourism product development, and the promotion of sustainable tourism. Particular emphasis is placed on fostering critical thinking, creativity, and the ability to analyse contemporary challenges facing the tourism industry by applying European best practices in teaching and learning.
The programme has been developed through continuous consultation with industry representatives, academic experts, and professional partners, ensuring that the learning outcomes and curriculum remain aligned with the actual needs of the labour market. Through its Industrial Board and collaboration with businesses, professional associations, and public institutions, the programme is continuously updated to reflect the latest developments in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
Students pursue their studies in a modern academic environment equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, professional software platforms such as SPSS, Stata, and SAP S/4HANA, as well as the Centre of Expertise for Hospitality and Tourism, where they undertake professional practice and gain hands-on experience in real working environments. This integration of technology, practical training, and scientific research provides students with a comprehensive educational experience that prepares them for successful careers at both the national and international levels.
Upon graduation, students possess advanced knowledge of tourism and hospitality, project management skills, proficiency in the use of modern technologies, market analysis capabilities, and the ability to develop innovative solutions for the tourism industry. They are well prepared to contribute to public and private organisations, tourism enterprises, hospitality institutions, and international organisations, while also being equipped to pursue further studies at higher academic levels as competitive professionals in both the national and global labour markets.
