Teaching and Learning

The Bachelor Program in Sport Science and Movement at UBT is designed to provide a balanced and contemporary educational experience that integrates academic theory with professional practice. Our pedagogical model aims to develop skilled, critical, and innovative specialists in the fields of sport, physical activity, and human performance.

The teaching and learning process is built upon three core pillars:

1.  Theoretical Teaching

Students acquire in-depth knowledge from the fundamental and applied sciences of sport, including:

  • Exercise physiology
  • Functional anatomy
  • Biomechanics
  • Pedagogy and methodology of physical education
  • Sport psychology
  • Performance and health sciences

Lectures are delivered using modern teaching methods, interactive discussions, case analyses, and updated scientific literature.

2.  Development of Practical and Applied Skills

The program places strong emphasis on connecting theory with real-world application. Through:

  • Practical sessions in sport and performance laboratories
  • Technical and tactical training in various sports
  • Supervised practical exercises
  • Demonstrations of contemporary training methods students develop concrete professional skills relevant to physical education, fitness, sports training, and basic functional rehabilitation.

3.  Practical Work, Projects, and Research Activities

The program promotes active and research-oriented learning through:

  • Individual and group projects
  • Field observations and performance assessments
  • Professional practice in sports institutions, schools, training centers, and clubs
  • Participation in scientific workshops and activities

These activities help students develop research competencies, analytical skills, and the ability to solve real-life problems.

Purpose and Intended Learning Outcomes

Through this integrated model, the program aims to prepare graduates who:

  • Fully understand the biological, psychological, and pedagogical processes that influence sport performance
  • Are able to plan, implement, and evaluate professional physical activity programs
  • Apply scientific data and modern technologies in performance analysis
  • Demonstrate effective communication, critical thinking, and professional ethics
  • Are well-prepared for employment and further studies at the master’s level

By combining high-quality teaching with active learning, the Faculty of Sport Science and Movement at UBT creates an academic environment that supports students’ professional growth and prepares them for successful careers in sport, health, and physical education.
