Admission

UBT College has clearly defined requirements and criteria for admission to the BSc in Esthetics and Cosmetology study program. The admission process adheres to relevant national regulations, such as Article 29 of the Law on Higher Education in Kosovo, and internal rules established by the Faculty Council.

National requirements

  • Local Students: Applicants must successfully complete secondary education and pass the Matura Exam.
  • Public Call: The admission process begins via a public call.
  • Document Submission: Students must submit required documents, including their high school diploma.
  • Evaluation Criteria: The Faculty Council evaluates candidates based on a Grade Point Average (GPA) above 3 and the Matura exam.
  • International Students: Applicants must obtain diploma recognition and equivalence through the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Kosovo.
  • Standard Verification: This ensures international applicants meet national educational standards prior to applying.

Additional admission criteria

  • Equivalence Procedure: Systems like US-accredited diplomas undergo a GPA conversion to match the Kosovo grading system.
  • Fairness Standard: This process ensures fairness and consistency for students from diverse educational backgrounds.
  • Core Criteria: Requirements include high school completion, GPA alignment with Kosovo standards, and passing the Matura exam.

Application process

Submission Office: Interested candidates fill out the registration application, attach the required documents, and submit them to the Student Service Office.

Application Form: Available online or physically at the Student Service Office (SSO).

High School Diploma: Original diploma or graduation certificate is required.

Birth Certificate: An official birth extract must be included.

Transfer to the BSc in Esthetics and Cosmetology study program

For students wishing to transfer from other universities, the admission process at UBT College ensures that their previously completed courses will be carefully reviewed for compatibility with the Esthetics and Cosmetology study program.

According to Article 34, paragraph 5 of the Law on the Kosovo Accreditation Agency, a transfer can only be made from study programs that have at least a 70% substantial similarity to the Esthetics and Cosmetology study program. Furthermore, academic transcripts must be submitted and reviewed by the Faculty Transfer Subcommittee.

  • Automatic Recognition: If the courses are identical and share the same content, they are recognized automatically.
  • Similar Content: For courses with similar content, course descriptions (syllabi) must be submitted. The Faculty Transfer Subcommittee evaluates them to determine if the courses have identical or similar titles and equivalent ECTS credits.
  • Similarity Threshold: To be recognized, a course must have at least 70% similarity in terms of learning outcomes, objectives, and content compared to the equivalent course in the Esthetics and Cosmetology study program.
