Aims and Objectives

The program’s mission is to educate and prepare professionals in Agriculture and Environmental Engineering management who will be pivotal in advancing sustainable agricultural practices and enhancing environmental stewardship. Through innovative teaching, impactful research, and strategic management of agricultural resources and environmental systems, our graduates will significantly contribute to sustainable development and the strategic growth of Kosovo and the broader region. We are committed to fostering a global perspective and cultivating leadership skills for addressing global challenges in food security, environmental sustainability, and climate resilience.

The program prepares students to become leaders with a global vision, which aligns with UBT’s mission to develop 21st century leaders ready to address global challenges in agriculture and the environment.

Contribution to GDP Growth and Job Creation: The Agricultural and Environmental Engineering program is designed to produce professionals capable of driving economic growth in the agricultural and environmental sectors. Courses such as Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management, and Environmental Policy directly prepare students to engage in activities that support agricultural production, market development, and environmental sustainability. By equipping students with these skills, the program helps build a workforce that contributes to GDP growth and job creation in agriculture, a key sector for Kosovo’s economic development.

 

Program Learning Outcomes:

  • Apply the role of food production and nutrient function levels in maintaining normal health and nutritional support in disease throughout life;
  • Evaluate and understand standards, laws, regulations, and policies related to Agriculture and the Environment (e.g., socioeconomic status, culture, psychology, agricultural and environmental problem choices, costs) and their application in practice;
  • Supervise and lead programs aimed at educating residents about plant cultivation, conservation, and protection, as well as protecting the environment from them;
  • Prepare and evaluate data regarding the current state of agricultural crops in the field;
  • Conduct research in the field of Agriculture and the Environment and share the results at scientific conferences and other settings;
  • Demonstrate professionalism and ethical behavior in all areas of practice;
  • Know and determine the nutritional and health values ​​of food products of plant origin;
  • Know the principles of vegetable cultivation in open fields and protected environments.
