Aims and Objectives

The Master of Science in Public Health and Management has been established with the aim of contributing to the development of highly qualified professionals who possess advanced knowledge, practical skills, and managerial competencies to address contemporary public health challenges. The programme is aligned with UBT’s institutional vision of promoting academic excellence, innovation, scientific research, and positive societal impact.

One of the primary aims of the programme is to prepare professionals capable of analysing and interpreting public health issues at local, national, and international levels. Students are trained to apply contemporary epidemiological methods, assess factors influencing population health, and propose evidence-based solutions grounded in scientific research.

The programme also seeks to develop managerial capacities and professional leadership skills. Through specialised modules, students learn how to plan, organise, lead, and monitor complex processes within healthcare institutions. Particular emphasis is placed on strategic management, quality assurance, human resource management, and decision-making within the healthcare sector.

An important objective of the programme is the development of research competencies. The programme promotes the application of scientific methods for problem identification, data collection and analysis, interpretation of findings, and dissemination of research outcomes. Students engage in research projects and the preparation of their master’s thesis, contributing to the generation of new knowledge and the enhancement of professional practice.

The programme aims to promote professional ethics, social responsibility, and adherence to international standards in the field of public health. Students are encouraged to develop sensitivity to community needs, promote health equity, and contribute to the advancement of population well-being.

Another key objective is to prepare students for interdisciplinary and international collaboration. The programme develops communication, teamwork, and collaborative skills through interaction with professionals from diverse disciplines, reflecting the complex nature of contemporary healthcare systems. Through this approach, graduates are equipped to contribute effectively to public institutions, international organisations, the private sector, and academia, thereby supporting the development of healthcare systems and the improvement of population health outcomes.
