International Interest in UBT’s Innovative Model and Development Ecosystem

UBT’s innovative model and development ecosystem continue to attract the attention of international researchers and experts, who are closely examining the institution’s unique approach to higher education, innovation, and technological development.

As part of a one-week study visit to UBT, a group of researchers, including representatives from the University of Cambridge and other British institutions, engaged in an intensive agenda of meetings, discussions, and academic activities with UBT professors, researchers, and experts. The focus of these engagements was the operational and developmental model of UBT and the potential for replicating this model in different countries, particularly those within the broader community.

The visit was conducted within the framework of the research activities of the international team, which is analyzing contemporary models of higher education, digital transformation, the development of smart campuses, and the role of universities in advancing communities and society.

During their stay at UBT, the delegation was welcomed by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, with whom they held discussions on the strategic vision that has guided the university’s development over the past 25 years. Particular attention was given to the UBT ecosystem, which includes the concepts of UBT Smart City and UBT 5S as models that integrate education, scientific research, innovation, technology, artificial intelligence, and industry collaboration, creating a modern environment for academic and social development.

The visit also included working sessions with UBT professors and researchers, as well as visits to laboratories, research centers, smart learning spaces, and university clinics. Through these activities, the researchers gained first-hand insight into how the UBT ecosystem functions and the practices that have positioned the institution as one of the most innovative models of higher education in the region.

The interest shown by international researchers in UBT confirms the growing significance of its development model in contemporary discussions on the future of higher education, transforming the university into a reference point for research and the exchange of best practices at the international level.
