Industry Partnership

Research work in food science industries and companies encompasses a wide range of activities, which may cover new research and developments in the areas of food processing, safety, quality and optimization. The industries mentioned below are collaborative and are targets for employment of our students according to different sectors such as:

Food Processing and Technology: Research on the use of new technologies in food processing to improve the preservation of nutritional values, taste and freshness of food products.

Food Safety and Disease Prevention: Research may focus on the study of microorganisms and toxic substances that may be present in food, as well as on the development of new methods for food safety testing and contamination monitoring. Climate Change and its Impact on Food: Study of the impacts of climate change on food production and methods to ensure sustainable food production under such conditions, including methods to reduce food losses.

Improving the nutritional value of foods: Research into creating healthier foods, including the use of functional ingredients and the enrichment of foods with vitamins, minerals or fibre to improve consumer health. Specialized Foods and Diets: Development of special foods for specific population groups such as children, the elderly, those with specific diseases (e.g. diabetes, celiac disease, cardiovascular diseases), as well as studying the impact of different diets on long-term health.
