Energy Engineering

The Bachelor degree in Energy Engineering is a under-graduate program which provides professional education in this important field of study. Energy Engineering is the study of energy systems and often energy efficient systems connected in some way that are monitored using appropriate components and controlled using computer systems. Energy Engineering systems are all around us with far-reaching applications to every sector of society ranging from factories, automobiles, buildings, etc. Therefore studying Energy Engineering is very exciting and interesting. Moreover training the future generations of engineers and giving them a comprehensive set of skills is extremely important for the energy efficiency engineering industry as a whole and for the society.

Taking into consideration the current and emerging requirements in the coming years within the renewable energy sector there will be considerable demand for qualified engineers in the sector. In this context the UBT Energy Engineering Program, aims to respond to the perceived need for qualified personnel. Graduate students from the Energy Engineering Program will be qualified to work within production and distribution of electricity and the related service industries. The students will complete their education program in cooperation with energy sector.  As a part of the program the students must complete successfully their internship program also in cooperation with energy sector.

Recognizing that today’s engineers must be able to solve complex, highly focused practical problems, as well as those specialist fields of Engineering, UBT is offering this program of study. Our mission is to contribute to the study of Energy Engineering based on European and American programs and experience.  Students must also complete Bachelor Thesis in an area that might suit them. The topics of thesis are defined in detail by the department.

Learn and understand the concepts of design in Energy systems while taking into consideration the available technology and its application capabilities.

Learn in detail the components of energy engineering applicable in different fields such as: industry, energy efficiency, energy management, buildings.

Respond to the specific needs to the related industries.

Understand the fundamentals of energy engineering science applicable in energy efficiency, such as mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering and software engineering.

Learn about the representation and professional report writing while taking into consideration the formats used in engineering.

Possess excellence-based education and the highest academic and ethical standards nationally and internationally.

Pursue further independent research and practice in sustainable energy engineering
