The UBT students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering Construction Engineering students visited the laboratory “GEOKOS A&A”
21/01/2019The UBT students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Infrastructure have paid a visit to the laboratory of geomechanics “GEOKOS A&A”, headquartered in Pristina.
Students were accompanied by their professors, Hysen Ahmeti and Hazir Çadraku.
The purpose and importance of this visit was for students to learn how to apply the theoretical aspects into practice. They had the opportunity to closely observe the ways how samples are being extracted by drillings in terrain, which are thereafter brought to the laboratory for a further analysis of physic and mechanic parameters. Those parameters include the volume weight, their specific weight, the natural moisture, the level of plasticity, the scale of porosity, the level of density, and also the method of modified proctor ASTM D-689; AASHTO T-99 etc.
The students were able to see closely the laboratory work to extract the physico-mechanical parameters. They shared satisfaction with this visit, as the cooperation will continue between UBT and the laboratory “GEOKOS A&A”.
