Admission Criteria
Student admission is regulated by the Faculty Council Admission Regulation. All applicants within the enrolment quotas for full-time students who have completed bachelor studies with 180 ECTS are eligible to enroll in the program. Admission to the studies is done on the basis of a public call by submitting to UBT College the application to register by completing the standard practice established by the Faculty Council.
The selection of candidates is carried out by a committee composed of academic and administrative staff, who evaluate applications based on clearly defined criteria. This process ensures that each selected candidate has the prior knowledge and competencies necessary to succeed in the program.
According to the SER the program of study is open to students that have completed a Bachelor studies in Energy Engineering and relevant fields (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics, Environmental Engineering, Mechatronics and other Energy related fields).
For the students from other disciplines: The following bridging exams must be passed by students who do not come from the main discipline related to the program:
The enrolment of non-energy engineering graduates shall be made from 01.06 until 20.06. The bridging courses shall be delivered from July until October. The students must pass the bridging exams if they want to continue with the regular semester that begins in October.
The admission process is fair, consistent, and non-discriminatory, ensuring equal opportunities for all applicants. Procedures for recognizing prior academic achievements and facilitating the transfer of students from other institutions are clearly defined and accessible, ensuring transparency and alignment with national and institutional regulations.
For transfer students from other universities, the admission process at UBT College ensures that their previously completed courses are carefully reviewed for compatibility with the Energy Engineering and Environment MSc program. According to Article 34, item 5 of Law on Kosovo Accreditation Agency the transfer can take place only from study programs, which have a content similarity with the Energy Engineering and Environment MSc program at least 70 %. Additionally, the course transcripts must be submitted and reviewed by the Faculty Transfer Sub-Committee. If the courses are the same and have the same content they are automatically recognized. For those with similar content, course descriptions must be submitted, and the Faculty Transfer Sub-Committee evaluates them to determine if the courses have the same or similar titles and equivalent ECTS credits. To be recognized, a course must have at least 70% similarity in terms of learning outcomes, objectives, and content compared to the equivalent course at the Energy Engineering and Environment MSc program.
