The BSc program in FinTech and Business Analytics aims to respond to the growing needs of the financial sector, business organizations, and the rapidly expanding digital economy in Kosovo and the wider region. The increasing use of financial technologies, digital banking, data-driven decision-making, artificial intelligence, and business analytics requires graduates with interdisciplinary knowledge that combines finance, technology, and analytical skills. The program is designed to prepare students with the theoretical, practical, and professional competencies necessary to contribute to the digital transformation of financial institutions, businesses, startups, and technology-driven organizations.

The philosophy, structure, and methodology of the program have been developed in alignment with national development priorities and the strategic objectives of UBT. The program reflects the needs identified in Kosovo’s economic development agenda, digitalization initiatives, and labour market demand for professionals with competencies in finance, analytics, and emerging technologies. The curriculum has also been informed by international best practices in FinTech and business analytics education, as well as by contemporary developments in digital finance, data science, artificial intelligence, blockchain technologies, and business intelligence.

During the design of the program, the Study Commission considered feedback from academic experts, industry representatives, and stakeholders from the financial, business, and technology sectors. Particular attention was given to labour market analyses and employer expectations in order to identify the key competencies required for graduates entering the FinTech and analytics ecosystem. These consultations helped ensure that the program equips students with relevant knowledge and employability skills for modern technology-driven workplaces.

Graduates of the program are expected to pursue professional careers in a wide range of sectors, including banking, financial services, insurance, consulting, business intelligence, data analytics, FinTech startups, e-commerce, and technology companies. They may work in entry-level and junior professional roles related to financial analysis, business analytics, digital banking operations, compliance support, reporting, data management, and technology-enabled business processes. Graduates may also continue their academic development through second-cycle (Master’s) studies in related disciplines.

In line with the educational philosophy of UBT and the Faculty of Management, Business and Economics, practical experience and industry engagement represent important components of the learning process. Internships, case studies, laboratory exercises, and project-based learning activities enable students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts and develop practical competencies relevant to the FinTech and business analytics industries. UBT has established cooperation agreements and partnerships with companies, financial institutions, and organizations, creating opportunities for students to gain professional experience through internships and collaborative projects.

In addition, students are encouraged to participate in international exchange programs, internships, competitions, and collaboration opportunities with international companies and institutions. These experiences help students expand their professional networks, benchmark their skills internationally, and gain valuable global exposure that is increasingly important in the evolving digital economy.
