The mission of the Mechanical Engineering (BSc) program at UBT is to educate competent mechanical engineers with strong theoretical knowledge and practical skills, capable of designing, analyzing, manufacturing, and maintaining mechanical systems that meet contemporary industrial, technological, and societal needs.
To become a leading undergraduate programme in Mechanical Engineering in Kosovo and the region, recognized for academic rigor, strong industrial integration, applied research orientation, and contribution to sustainable engineering development.
To fulfil its mission, the Mechanical Engineering BSc programme pursues the following general goals:
G1 – Establish Strong Foundations in Mechanical Engineering Sciences
Provide students with solid theoretical foundations in mathematics, physics, materials science, mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics as the basis for advanced engineering analysis and design.
G2 – Develop Applied Engineering Design and Analytical Competence
Prepare graduates capable of analyzing, designing, modeling, and optimizing mechanical components and systems using engineering standards and modern digital tools.
G3 – Integrate Digital Engineering and Modern Manufacturing Technologies
Equip students with competencies in CAD, CAM, FEM, automation, and smart manufacturing technologies to ensure readiness for contemporary industrial environments.
G4 – Promote Sustainable and Responsible Engineering Practice
Develop engineers who consider environmental impact, energy efficiency, safety standards, and ethical responsibility in engineering decision-making and system design.
G5 – Prepare Graduates for Professional Practice and Lifelong Learning
Ensure graduates possess professional, communication, teamwork, and project management skills necessary for successful employment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous professional development.
To achieve these goals, the programme aims to:
PO1 Develop strong analytical and scientific competence in core mechanical engineering disciplines.
PO2 Enable students to design and analyse mechanical systems using engineering standards and digital tools.
PO3 Provide laboratory-based, project-oriented, and industry-aligned learning experiences.
PO4 Promote sustainability, safety, and ethical responsibility in engineering solutions.
PO5 Develop communication, teamwork, and project management skills.
PO6 Prepare graduates for employment, industry collaboration, and lifelong learning.
