New Academic Year Starts at UBT With Solemn Reception for Students

The young people who have chosen to study at the UBT, the place where they want to be the best and most successful, have been solemnly welcomed today on the occasion of the start of the 2016-2016 academic year.


A welcome ceremony was held for the students of the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Management, Business and Economy, and those who will be studying Information Systems, Public Policies and Management.  Later on, a welcome ceremony was held for the future students of Computer Sciences and Engineering, Mechatronics Management, and Energy Engineering, as well as the students of the Political Sciences, Law, and Media and Communications.


Wishing new students a warm welcome, UBT Rector Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, congratulated the academic staff and students on the start of the new academic year.  He said this day was an important one for the new students because they were going to study in prestigious institution of higher education and this should be a moment to be remembered for all. 


This is the 14th year that the UBT has started courses for students from Kosovo and the countries of the region.  Rector Hajrizi said the UBT had succeeded to become integrated in all structures and of different world programs. 


“The UBT is part of the European schools that offer the students qualitative education and conditions for the development of practices,” said Dr. Hajrizi, adding that the UBT was a leader in the aspect of involving technology in the professional practices, which helps the students’ development.


“The advanced technology that you will find in the UBT, communication, generation of new ideas, and interaction, are the things that we offer here by aiming to make sure that the students will be pleased with us because we want their success to be guaranteed,” he said.


Rector Hajrizi also spoke about the study visits, which is one of the distinguishing features of the UBT that help the students connect theory with practice and also to be acquainted with new cultures and studying practices in the world’s prestigious universities.


“We have over 100 partners which help us promoting our values and they offer our students’ opportunities to study abroad with the same study qualities and programs,” said Rector Hajrizi, adding that, “Together with you, we try to create an elite of successful students in every professional aspect.” 


He noted that the UBT had had many successes thanks to its professional staff, the high-quality lectures, and committed students.  “We will continue with the same rhythm of achieving international standards.  It is not by accident that the UBT represents Kosovo in the international competitions of the higher education and quality, and among others this as happed owing to the cooperation that has made us to be the first in the country,” Hajrizi said.


He also noted that the infrastructure and the modern working environment that the UBT offered would help the students have an overall development in the conditions comparable with the world universities where the students will be continuously observed and helped in both learning and realization of projects and ideas.


Dr. Hajrizi also noted that the UBT gives scholarships to the goods students, and the UBT is a leader in supposing projects and grants enabling the students to complete one semester or one whole academic year in the universities abroad.


Deans of all faculties addressed the young students and their family members by detailing the study programs.  Alumni representatives presented their experiences of studying at the UBT and their success journey after studying and building their careers. 

 

A welcome ceremony for the young students will be organized at the UBT branch in Ferizaj on 8 October at 10:00 hrs, at the UBT building there.
