UBT Students Visit Albania, Meet President Nishani

Around 45 students of the Faculty of Media and Communication, the Faculty of Political Sciences, the and Law Faculty of the UBT, have been on a four-day visit to the Republic of Albania.  Members of the academic staff from respective faculties were also part of the visit.  During the visit, the students met Mr. Bujar Nishani, President of the Republic of Albania.  President Nishani delivered a lecture in front of the students on the current developments in Albania and the need for the youth and the political establishment to fours on the efforts for building a better future for all.


Belul Beqaj, the dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences, thanked President Nishani on behalf of the students and UBT President Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi.  President Nishani has posted on his Facebook account a photo with the UBT students attached the following comments: “A very friendly meeting with the students from the Prishtina University and UBT.  Open discussions with representatives of the Faculty of Political Sciences, the Faculty of Media and Communication, and Law Faculty, led by Faculty Dean Prof Dr. Belul Beqaj.”


The UBT students also visited the sessions’ hall of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania.  They could also learn about the functioning of key political and administrative positions of the Assembly and see the differences between the parliamentary practices of Albania and Kosovo.


On the second day, the students were received at the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Tirana by  Charge d’Affaires Gani Veselaj, who briefed them on the role of the embassies in promoting Kosovo’s foreign policy and in particular the role of the Embassy in Tirana.  He also briefed the visitors on the internal organization of the embassy.


Then, the students visited the TV Klan and ABC News television where the chief editors and journalists organized tours for the students to the news halls and other programs.  The students visited also a number of university institutions.  The goal of the visit was to exchange views on the development of the media and institutions between Kosovo and Albania. 

 

“We visited a number of institutions and we could see closely how team work functions there, then we could identify the similarities between the assemblies of Kosovo and Albania.  President Nishani briefed us on the successes and challenges in the field of education.  However, the place I found most interesting was the TV Klan where I could see how live shows are produced and how the news programs are prepared.  The UBT offers us unforgettable experiences,” says student Albina Zeneli.
