UBT Signs Cooperation Agreement with the Indian Economic Trade Organisation (IETO)
13/06/2026UBT had the pleasure of welcoming a high-level delegation from India, led by Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of the Indian Economic Trade Organisation (IETO), accompanied by representatives of some of the most prominent companies and organizations from India’s private sector.

During the visit, UBT and IETO signed a Cooperation Agreement aimed at strengthening ties between the academic and business communities of Kosovo and India. The agreement foresees the development of joint initiatives in the fields of education, scientific research, innovation, entrepreneurship, trade, and investment, creating new opportunities for collaboration among students, academics, and the business communities of both countries.
As part of the meetings, the President of IETO extended an official invitation to the Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, to visit New Delhi with the purpose of deepening the institutional partnership and expanding the network of cooperation between Kosovo and India.
The visit was assessed as an important step toward advancing Kosovo’s economic and public diplomacy, contributing to the creation of new bridges of cooperation with one of the world’s largest and most dynamic economies. This engagement carries particular significance given the substantial potential for expanding connections among institutions, businesses, and civil society organizations in both countries.
A special focus of the discussions was the creative and film industry, considering India’s global position as one of the largest film production hubs in the world. The delegation also included one of the renowned producers from the Bollywood industry, with whom opportunities for cooperation in film production, creative media, cultural exchange, and the international promotion of emerging talents were discussed.
UBT remains committed to building strategic international partnerships that contribute to the development of education, innovation, the economy, and intercultural dialogue, positioning Kosovo as a reliable partner on the global stage.
