“Three Photos, One Opinion” Exhibition Opens at UBT

22/12/2015

For three consecutive days, the UBT students had the opportunity of demonstrating creativity and talent on photography in three areas of their choice.   On the first day they worked on the theme “City and Identity,” on the second day they dealt with “City and Heritage,” while on the third and last day they treated the topic of “Graffiti.”

The photo-marathon was aimed at educating the students to identify, through their viewpoints, phenomena and processes.

Project coordinator Avni Dalipi has told Telgrafi news portal that the main aim of the photo-marathon event was to engage participants in social and entertaining activities and at the end of the process to come up with conclusions on certain topics.

He explained that the topics were of different natures, including those relating to daily and social problems, as well those concerning environment, architecture, and so on.  The participating students are supposed to initiate debates on issues and phenomena.  The photo-marathon has both a competitive and entertaining character.

At the end of the photo shooting activity, a presentation started at the UBT, with each participating student given the opportunity to comment on the work they did during the photo-marathon event.

Dr. Lulzim Beqiri, Dean of the UBT’s Faculty of Architecture, declared the exhibition opened.  He spoke about the importance for the architecture of the creative and analytical work.

On Monday, 21 December, besides the presentation of the first photos made by the participants, another exhibition, “Three Photos, One Opinion” with all photos from the marathon was opened.  Each participant presented three photos on three different topics.  Three best works will be selected at the end.

A professional jury comprising Baris Karamuco, chairman, who is at the same time professor of camera and photography at the UBT, Ajhan Bajmaku, professor of creativity course at the Faculty of Architecture, and Valmir Hoxha, professor of 3D designs at the UBT, will give their opinions and will reach a decision on the wining photos.

This is the first time the UBT has organized an activity of this kind, offering the talents an opportunity to show their talents.
