The UBT students paid a visit to the largest factory in the Southeast Europe concerned with the manufacturing of steel pipes

The UBT students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Infrastructure accompanied by Visar Krelani and Arber Muqaj have paid a study visit to the Factory of Civil Engineering and Infrastructure “IMK” in Ferziaj.

This is the largest factory in the region as well as in southeast Europe as far as the manufacturing of tubes and steel constructions is concerned.

Students were awaited by the marketing manager Gëzim Mustafa said that the factories comprised of two main sectors; one is concerned with the manufacturing of tubes selvage tubes and that of steel constructions which mainly target the global market.

 

In the framework of this factory he emphasized that there is proliferated a wide range of elements which have different sizes and dimensions. Indeed, their quality is in relevance with the European standards. The students had the opportunity to closely observe the manufacturing of selvage steel tubes, which are widely used in the water supply system, pipelines, and oil pipelines in a many countries.

In addition, they also had a closer look at the technologies related to the production of bearing structures and other construction materials which are particularly manufactured for Bechtel Enka company and other European companies.
