Admission

To enroll in the Master’s Program in Commercial Law at UBT College, students must meet specific academic qualifications that ensure they are prepared for advanced legal studies.

Bachelor’s Degree Requirement:

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field from a recognized institution. This requirement ensures that students possess a solid foundational understanding of the legal principles relevant to commercial law.

UBT College conducts a thorough verification process to confirm that the Bachelor’s degree comes from an accredited institution recognized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation of Kosovo. This process is crucial for maintaining academic standards and ensuring the legitimacy of prior educational credentials.

Minimum GPA:
A minimum GPA of 7.5 (or equivalent) is required, reflecting the academic competence necessary for the rigor of the program.

Additional Admission Criteria:

Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in a non-law field must pass two differential exams: Commercial Law and Contract Law. This ensures that all candidates have the necessary legal knowledge before undertaking advanced studies.

Selection Process:
Prospective students apply through an online system, submitting all required documents, including their Bachelor’s diploma, GPA records, and, if applicable, proof of passing differential exams.
The Program Director reviews all applications, assessing each candidate’s qualifications based on the defined criteria.
The compiled list of selected candidates is submitted to the Faculty Council for final approval. This step ensures transparency and adherence to the established admission standards.

Transfer Students and Credit Recognition:

UBT College has established comprehensive procedures for recognizing periods of study for students transferring from other universities to ensure a smooth transition and continuity in their academic journey. These procedures are designed to evaluate the compatibility of previously completed courses with the Master’s Program in Commercial Law.
The admission process includes a thorough review of prior coursework to determine its relevance to the Master’s program. This evaluation is conducted by the Faculty Transfer Subcommittee, which ensures that only courses with a significant degree of content similarity are considered for recognition.
In accordance with Article 34, paragraph 5 of the Law on the Kosovo Accreditation Agency, transfer students can only be admitted from programs that demonstrate at least 70% content similarity with the Master’s Program in Commercial Law. This requirement ensures that incoming students possess the fundamental knowledge and skills relevant to their new program.

Students seeking to transfer must submit their official course transcripts along with detailed course descriptions. This documentation allows the Transfer Subcommittee to assess courses for equivalency in terms of learning outcomes, objectives, and content. For a course to be recognized, it must achieve a minimum of 70% similarity with the corresponding course. Courses identical in title and content are automatically recognized, while similar ones undergo a detailed evaluation process.

Application Deadlines:
UBT College has clearly defined application periods for transfer students to facilitate the recognition process. These periods are as follows:
• Winter Semester: September 20–25
• Summer Semester: February 23–28
