College UBT has a clearly defined, comprehensive, and well-published set of requirements and criteria for admission to the Master’s in FinTech and Innovation Management program. The admission process adheres to the relevant national regulations, such as Article 29 paragraph 4 of the Law on Higher Education in Kosovo and the internal rules established by the Faculty Council. National Requirements:

  • For domestic students, applicants must have successfully completed bachelor education in the following fields: Management, Business and Economics; Finance, Banking and Accounting; Information Systems / Business Informatics; Computer Science / Information Technology; Mathematics, Statistics or Data Science; Other related disciplines relevant to financial technologies and innovation. The admission process is initiated through a public call, and students are required to submit a set of documents, including their bachelor diploma, for review. The Faculty Council evaluates candidates based on specific criteria, such as Grade Point Average (GPA), which must be at least 7.5 for admission.
  • Should the demand surpass the supply significantly, a Research Writing Sample shall be reviewed, which will count for 30 % of overall points in ranking of candidates.
  • For international students, the process requires recognition and equivalency of their bachelor education diplomas through the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation of Kosovo or Kosovo NARIC. This ensures that international applicants meet the national education standards before they can apply.

Additional Admission Criteria:

  • For students coming from international education systems, such as those with U.S.-recognized diplomas, there is a procedure for the equivalency of GPA to match Kosovo’s grading system. This ensures fairness and consistency in the admission of students from diverse educational backgrounds.
  • The admission criteria is the completion of bachelor education, GPA of 7.5 according to Kosovo system.
  • Should the demand surpass the supply significantly, a Research Writing Sample shall be reviewed, which will count for 30 % of overall points in ranking of candidates

Transfer to the MBE Faculty

For transfer students from other universities, the admission process at UBT College ensures that their previously completed courses are carefully reviewed for compatibility with the MBE study program. According to Article 34, item 5 of Law on Kosovo Accreditation Agency the transfer can take place only from study programs, which have a content similarity with the MBE study program at least 70 %.  Additionally, the course transcripts must be submitted and reviewed by the Faculty Transfer Sub-Committee. If the course are the same and have the same content they are automatically recognized. For those with similar content, course descriptions must be submitted, and the Faculty Transfer Sub-Committee evaluates them to determine if the courses have the same or similar titles and equivalent ECTS credits. To be recognized, a course must have at least 70% similarity in terms of learning outcomes, objectives, and content compared to the equivalent course at the MBE Faculty.
