Rector Hajrizi Visits AIT – Austria Institute of Technology in Vienna
24/06/2026As part of his official visit to Austria, UBT Rector, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, visited AIT – Austria Institute of Technology in Vienna, one of Europe’s leading research and technology institutions.
During the visit to the AIT campus, the delegation was introduced to cutting-edge projects and technologies in the fields of Extended Reality (XR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and simulation-based training for professional and emergency response environments.
A particular focus of the presentation was the “Green Manikin” project, an innovative XR-based training platform designed for emergency response teams and paramedics, as well as the GAIN project, which aims to develop anti-discrimination training for rescue teams through immersive and extended reality technologies.
The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss potential academic, research, and professional collaborations, with a focus on the development of joint projects in XR, artificial intelligence, simulations, and emerging technologies, as well as other areas of mutual interest.
During the discussions, Rector Hajrizi presented UBT Smart City and highlighted UBT’s ongoing projects and achievements in the fields of digital innovation, immersive technologies, and advanced educational solutions.
