11/03/2013

“Mechatronics and Robotics Today and in the Future” is the title of the presentation that Prof. Dr. Techn. Dr. hc. Mult. Peter Kopacek has made in front of the staff and students of the UBT.  Besides the UBT professors and students, experts from the field of robotics, mechatronics, and sciences in general, attended the lecture and also took part in a debate.

In his lecture, Prof. Kopacek treated the fundamental issue related to the robotics in general, with a special focus on the mechatronics, starting from the origin of this field of engineering and the needs for it in the international education market, the work on developing mechatronics engineering projects, the successes of engineers as well as the need of professional engineers of mechatronics.

Among others, Prof. Kopacek discussed the world trends in these fields of studies, problems and advantages, as well as the application of mechatronics in the market, industry, and education.  He focused in particular on the achievements, problems, ways of finding the solutions to them through the artificial intelligence of robots, and equipment in general, as well as the cost benefits of a total or partial automatization of systems, including the impact on the employment of the human race by emphasizing the huge economic and social importance of this equipment to the environment.

Prof. Kopacek answered to a number of questions from the foiled of the mechatronics asked put the audience which included, UBT professors and students and others.
