Impressive Attendance and Remarkable Debates International Conference Organized by UBT and Luigj Gurakuqi University
26/10/2015An international scientific conference “Research and Education – Challenge Towards the Future” organized by the UBT from Prishtina, the Faculty of Education Sciences and the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Luigj Gurakuqi University of Shkodra, was held in Shkoder.
During the two days of the conference, a number of topics from the field of Albanian studies, art, economy, culture, higher education, information technology and communication, media and communication, philology, sports, social sciences, scientific research and others were treated.
Representatives of well-known universities from Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denver University (USA), and experts from many areas of different countries participated at the conference.
The conference was organized through several sessions in the form of lectures by experts of respective fields. A debate with active participation of the students from the UBT and Luigj Gurakuqi University also took place.
In a lecture that attracted high interest of participants, UBT Rector Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi spoke in detail about the development of the higher education in the Republic of Kosovo, with a special emphasis on the achieved results, especially in the field of research and innovation, but also international communication in which the UBT is leader in our country and the region.
Other UBT professors participated in a number of sessions of the conference and gave their valuable contribution to debates held as part of the conference.
At the margins of the conference, Rector Hajrizi met rectors and representatives of different universities and participants of the conference who expressed interest in signing cooperation agreements with the UBT in the field of staff and student exchange, development of joint projects in innovation, research, and other aspects.
At the conclusion of the conference, leaders of the participating universities, including those of the UBT, were received by Mrs. Voltana Ademi, Mayor of Shkodra, who congratulated them on a successful organization of the conference and voiced interest and the municipality she runs in other forms of cooperation, especially between the UBT and the Luigj Gurakuqi University which have already held a number of joint activities and are planning to carry out a number of projects in the future.
Participants of the conference also toured the city of Shkodra and visited the Marubi museum and a number of other monuments in the city and the region.
