Around 100 Albanian Teachers from Across the World Receive Training from UBT and Aleksandër Xhuvani University as Part of the Summer School for Diaspora Teachers

Approximately 100 Albanian teachers from Germany, Greece, Italy, Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and other countries around the world are participating in the 2026 Summer School for Albanian Diaspora Teachers, organized by Aleksandër Xhuvani University in cooperation with UBT.

The programme has brought together teachers who contribute every day to preserving and promoting the Albanian language, culture, and national identity in the diaspora, providing them with training delivered by leading experts from UBT and Aleksandër Xhuvani University.

During the first days of the Summer School, participants attended intensive sessions on artificial intelligence in education, contemporary teaching platforms, digital content creation, distance learning, the use of interactive teaching tools, and the development of pedagogical competencies for the modern classroom. The training sessions were delivered by professors and experts from both universities, combining academic expertise with the latest technologies that are transforming education.

The Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, emphasized that investing in teachers of the Albanian diaspora means investing in the future of the Albanian language and national identity.

“Diaspora teachers are the most important ambassadors of our language and culture. Through this Summer School, we are building a professional community that connects knowledge, technology, and national identity while equipping teachers with the competencies they need for the education of the future.”

The Rector of Aleksandër Xhuvani University, Prof. Dr. Elvira Fetahu, highlighted the successful cooperation between the two universities and the importance of this programme for Albanian communities living abroad.

“The Summer School for Diaspora Teachers serves as a bridge of cooperation that brings together Albanian teachers from different countries, creating opportunities for the exchange of experiences, professional development, and strengthening their role in preserving the Albanian language and culture among younger generations.”

The Summer School will continue in the coming days with advanced modules dedicated to online course design, the development of digital teaching materials, the integration of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) into teaching, as well as the design of comprehensive learning modules for digital education platforms.
