The Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, has been invited and officially registered to participate in the World Economic Forum 2026, which will be held in Davos, Switzerland.

The Rector’s participation in the Open Forum Davos – The Future Starts Now 2050 represents an important international recognition of UBT and its role in higher education, innovation, and sustainable development.

This participation also offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to global discussions and meetings that shape the future, as well as to present the UBT 5S model and the UBT Smart Self-Sustainable City concept as forward-looking models for the future.

This model is fully aligned with the key themes to be addressed at the Open Forum Davos, reflecting a contemporary approach to sustainable development and the preparation of human capital for future challenges.

The model, conceived by Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi and implemented in practice, is attracting growing interest for presentations, studies, and publications, and is being recognized as a practical model already implemented within the UBT ecosystem.

This year’s program in Davos focuses on five major global challenges, where dialogue and public-private cooperation are essential for progress. At the center of the discussions are economic growth, sustainability, and innovation as cross-sectoral imperatives that will guide leaders’ approaches to global complexity and the creation of future opportunities.

The World Economic Forum in Davos brings together global leaders from government, business, civil society, and academia, with the aim of fostering advanced dialogue and global cooperation to address the most pressing challenges of our time.
