
UBT Rector Invited to Give Lecture at the University of Cambridge
04/03/2025The Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, has been invited to give a lecture at the University of Cambridge this week, where he will speak on modern concepts of smart and sustainable systems, focusing on the innovative and modern “UBT Smart City” model and the development of sustainable urban systems.
In his lecture, Rector Hajrizi will share UBT’s experiences and achievements in developing “UBT Smart City”, a model developed at UBT by the Rector himself. The model applies advanced technologies and best practices in social, environmental, and economic development to create a smart and sustainable city. This model has a significant impact on employment, economic growth, quality education, science, innovation, entrepreneurship, as well as other social aspects.
The “UBT 5S” (Small Scale Smart Sustain System), an entrepreneurial ecosystem already established within UBT, also has a notable influence on both national and international development parameters.
This model has been presented in over 100 countries worldwide and has received awards and high recognition for its impact on entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, quality, education, science, and sustainable development.
Rector Hajrizi is a renowned professor in the field of complex systems engineering and management science. He is a visiting professor and lecturer at several global universities. For his contributions, he has received numerous awards in science, education, quality, innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, and more.
Recently, Rector Hajrizi won first place as “Professor of the Year for Entrepreneurship in Europe”, received the Leadership in Quality Award from the European Organization for Quality, and was accepted as a full member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Europe.
