Teaching and Learning

The Master Program in Health and Physical Activity at UBT is designed to develop advanced professionals equipped with deep theoretical knowledge, specialized practical skills, and strong research competencies. The pedagogical approach integrates advanced health sciences with practical applications and professional interventions in community and clinical settings.

The teaching and learning process incorporates a well-structured combination of modern academic methods:

1.  Theoretical and Academic Teaching

The theoretical component is delivered through:

  • Advanced lectures in health and sport sciences
  • Interactive seminars with guided discussions
  • Analysis of real case studies
  • Engagement with selected literature and the latest scientific research

This approach enables students to thoroughly understand physiological, epidemiological, biomechanical, and psychosocial processes related to physical activity and health.

2.  Practical and Applied Teaching

Practical instruction is an essential part of the Master program and includes:

  • Advanced practical sessions and laboratory work
  • Professional demonstrations of assessment and intervention methods
  • Teaching rounds oriented toward clinical and community-based practice
  • Professional training in partner institutions
  • Direct field observations and data collection

These activities ensure that students develop evidence-based practice skills and acquire the ability to apply interventions effectively in different professional environments.

3.  Scientific Research and Academic Mentoring

The program places strong emphasis on research through:

  • Independent research work under academic supervision
  • Research activities addressing real health and sport-related issues
  • Participation in institutional projects, scientific events, and conferences
  • The preparation, presentation, and defense of the master thesis

Academic mentoring is continuous and structured to support students’ professional, personal, and scientific development.

Assessment

Student assessment includes multiple forms of evaluation:

  • Theoretical and applied examinations
  • Research assignments and individual projects
  • Professional presentations
  • Supervised practical placements
  • Final presentation and defense of the master thesis

These assessment methods ensure objective evaluation of students’ knowledge, practical skills, research abilities, and professional competence.

Student Responsibilities

Students are obliged to attend all teaching formats and fulfill all requirements outlined in the Regulation for University Studies at UBT. Active participation in lectures, seminars, practical sessions, and research activities is essential for their academic and professional success.
