Aims and Objectives

Mission

The mission of a BSc in Energy Engineering program is to educate and prepare students for careers in the field of energy engineering, with a focus on the sustainable and efficient production, distribution and utilization of energy. This program aims to provide a strong foundation in energy engineering principles and equip students with the knowledge and skills to design, analyze and implement efficient and environmentally friendly energy systems, needed to address current and future energy challenges. The program often focuses on a multidisciplinary approach, incorporating aspects of physics, engineering and environmental science to address the challenges in the field of energy. The mission of the BSc in Energy Engineering program is to provide graduates with a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, preparing them for careers in the field of energy engineering. It covers essential aspects such as power systems, sustainable energy production, transmission, distribution, and utilization. Students will develop a proficient and high-quality scientific understanding of Energy Engineering throughout the program developing the growth of creative problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and teamwork skills crucial for success in energy-related professions. The BSc Engineering Energy program is strategically designed to prepare students with the expertise needed to navigate the complexities of designing, promoting, and implementing both traditional and renewable energy solutions. It also prepares them to adapt to the dynamic changes in the industry, considering factors specific to Kosovo, the Region, and beyond. As a specific factor, the average age of about 60 years in the Energy Corporation of Kosovo – KEK can be mentioned.

The mission of the BSc Energy Engineering Program is also based on the Energy Strategy of the Republic of Kosovo 2022-2031, which also promotes the potential for the development of renewable energy. The purpose of this strategy is to create a friendly environment for private investments in the energy sector, which focuses on solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, biomass and gas as well as batteries for energy storage, also foreseeing the revitalization of Blocks in Thermal Power Plants Kosovo B. The Government of Kosovo aims to achieve the objectives set by the EU directives for the use of renewable energy sources, which is also evidenced by this Energy Strategy of the Republic of Kosovo 2022-2031.
