UBT successfully conducted a comprehensive workshop on Constructive Alignment of Learning Outcomes

24/11/2023

We are delighted to announce that the University for Business and Technology (UBT) successfully conducted a comprehensive workshop on the Constructive Alignment of Learning Outcomes with Learning Activity and Assessment Methods, incorporating Deep Learning strategies. The event, held on November 24, 2023, was part of our ongoing commitment to academic excellence and saw the active participation of 160 academic staff members across various study programs.

This workshop was particularly timely as it coincided with the new accreditation and re-accreditation process for this academic year, with a focus on refining syllabi to align with the principles established by Biggs and Tang (2015) and the ECTS User Guide (2015). Our dedicated faculty engaged in an in-depth exploration of how to effectively integrate learning outcomes with activities and assessments, ensuring a coherent and student-centered approach to teaching and learning.

A key aspect of the workshop was the emphasis on deep learning practices. Our academic staff delved into innovative learning activities designed to encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to apply knowledge in real-world scenarios among both bachelor’s and master’s level students.

The strategies discussed are expected to transform the learning experience at UBT, fostering an environment where students not only absorb information but also develop a profound understanding of their subjects. This educational approach aligns with our institutional vision to nurture professionals who are ready to meet the complex challenges of the modern workforce.

We extend our sincerest gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic involvement and commitment to advancing UBT’s educational standards. We are confident that the insights gained from this workshop will greatly enhance the pedagogical framework of our study programs and look forward to seeing these new strategies in action.
