UBT Organizes Workshop to Strengthen Academic Integrity within the SINCERE Project
29/10/2026As part of the SINCERE project – Strengthening Integrity and Ethical Culture in Regional Higher Education – UBT held a workshop dedicated to academic integrity, attended by administrative staff and professors.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the importance of academic integrity, encourage discussion on current challenges in the university environment, and provide a platform for participants to exchange experiences and good practices.
During the workshop, participants were divided into two working groups, focusing specifically on staff and student perspectives. The group discussions addressed issues related to implementing academic integrity principles, preventing plagiarism and other forms of unethical conduct, ensuring the proper use of academic sources, and tackling challenges arising from the increasing use of artificial intelligence in teaching, learning, and research.
Participants had the opportunity to identify the most common challenges encountered in practice, propose measures to improve institutional procedures, and discuss how academic staff, administrative staff, and students can work together to foster a stronger culture of responsibility, transparency, and ethical conduct.
The workshop also served as an opportunity to present the main objectives and activities of the SINCERE project, which aims to strengthen institutional capacities for promoting and monitoring academic integrity through the development of clear policies and procedures, the use of digital tools, staff capacity-building, and the active involvement of the university community.
Through initiatives such as this, UBT continues to contribute to creating an academic environment in which integrity, responsibility, and transparency are integral to teaching, learning, and scientific research.
