UBT Holds Grand Graduation Ceremony for the 23rd Generation of Students

UBT organized the solemn graduation ceremony for its 23rd generation of students, marking one of the most significant moments of the academic year. The ceremony brought together more than one thousand graduates, family members, professors, and representatives of various institutions.

The ceremony opened with the intonation of the National Anthem, the State Anthem, and the Student Anthem.

This year’s ceremony carried special significance as it coincided with the 25th anniversary of UBT’s establishment, marking a quarter of a century of commitment to education, science, innovation, and development in Kosovo.

In his address, Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, reflected on the students’ journey, their dedication, and the sacrifices they made to reach this important milestone.

“Behind every diploma there is a story — countless nights of studying, exams, challenges, and sacrifices. Yet there is something you have today that is uniquely yours and that no one can take away from you: knowledge. Graduation is not the end, but a transition from seeking answers to taking responsibility for creating value for society,” said Rector Hajrizi.

Rector Hajrizi also highlighted the important role of families throughout the students’ educational journey, emphasizing that their support was essential in helping graduates reach this day.

“Today is also a special day for you, dear parents. When a family entrusts a university with the education of their child, they do not entrust us with only several years of study — they entrust us with a part of their future. This is a responsibility we take very seriously,” he stated.

During the graduation ceremony, Rector Hajrizi also reflected on UBT’s history and development over the past 25 years. He recalled that the university began with only 26 students, while today it is graduating thousands of young people.

“When we started 25 years ago, we had only an idea and a strong belief that Kosovo deserves quality and modern education. At our first graduation ceremony, we had only 26 students, while today we are graduating thousands. Yet a university is measured not only by numbers or buildings, but by the knowledge it creates and the change it brings to society,” said Rector Hajrizi.

Today, UBT alumni represent the institution as professionals, entrepreneurs, engineers, doctors, architects, and leaders in Kosovo and around the world, demonstrating their contribution to the development of society and to the university’s mission of shaping future generations.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the graduates shared the emotions of this special day with their families, professors, and UBT staff. For them, the occasion marked the completion of an important chapter of their academic journey and the beginning of a new professional path.

With diplomas in their hands, the graduates expressed their gratitude to their families for their support and to the academic staff for their dedication, while emotions, embraces, congratulations, and celebrations marked this memorable day.
