UBT Broadens Cooperation with German Universities, Concludes Agreement with Clausthal and Freiburg Universities

During a one-week visit to Germany, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, President of the UBT, and UBT Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Krasniqi have held a number of important meetings with senior officials of the German universities.

 

At the Technology University of Clausthal, Prof. Dr. Ing. Oliver Langfeld hosted a visit for the Kosovar visitors at the university’s premises.  On that occasion, an agreement on the cooperation between the Clausthal University and the UBT was concluded.  Mrs. Romanovski, Director for the International Relations of the Clausthal Technology University, also attended the meeting.  She spoke highly about the cooperation between the two universities.


The agreement provides for cooperation between the two universities at all levels of the studies, as academic staff’s and students’ exchange, development of common research projects, seminars, workshops,  and other academic events of the students and academic staff.  The agreement also provides for using of the respective libraries for the scientific research, distance studying programs, joint implementation of projects, summer courses and other scholarly events of high importance for the two institutions and the countries as well .


During the visit at the Clausthal University of Technology, Mr. Hajrizi and Mr. Krasniqi had the opportunity to learn more about the work that is being done in that university.  Prof. Langfeld briefed Hajrizi on the actual programs and future plans of the institution he represents. 


Besides Clausthal University, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi and Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Krasniqi held a very important meeting at the Freiburg University, where they were received by Prof. Dr. Ing. Thomas Abier, Deputy Dean of the Faculty, who is at the same time Director of the Freiburg-based Institute for Sciences. 


The leaders of the two institutions discussed the prospects of cooperation in a near future in the field of the science of materials, building of laboratory infrastructure, but also about joint scientific projects at all levels of studies, including projects of the European and regional framework, exchange of advanced literature, and other topics of importance for both institutions.  On this occasion, the parties agreed to sign a cooperation agreement which provides for students and academic exchange at all levels. 


Prof. Dr. Hajrizi and Prof. Dr. Krasniqi also visited the National Museum of Crystals, the largest of the kind in the world. 


The two German universities, with whom the UBT has the signed agreements, have similar cooperation agreements with universities from all continents of the world.  They are among the oldest universities in Europe.  The graduates from these universities hold leading positions in many companies and organizations worldwide.  Both rank among the most prestigious universities in the Republic of Germany, with a tradition of hundreds of years of experience in the field of academia and sciences. 

 

While at the University of Freiburg, Prof. Dr. Hajrizi and Prof. Dr. Krasniqi also met at with Prof. Dr. Ing. Habil H. Oettel, who voiced the willingness for cooperation in all fields between the two universities.  According to the host, this is a first good step of a long-term cooperation between the two universities in the future.
