Teaching and Learning

At UBT College, the Master’s Program in Political Science  is offered through a dynamic and student-oriented approach, reflecting European best practices and contemporary industry requirements.

a) Learning Outcomes

The programme is built on  clearly defined Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs) aligned  with UBT’s mission and strategic objectives, as well as with the European Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (EHEA) and the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). These outcomes are broken down into Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies, and aim to ensure that graduates are prepared for market challenges in the field of Political Science at the local, regional, and international levels.

b) Curriculum and Sudent’s Progress

The program is built with a logical flow that starts with basic concepts and develops towards advanced and specialized topics. From the first semester, students acquire philosophical, geopolitical and strategic knowledge, while in later semesters they deal with topics such as security theories, Regional and national security, Kosovo security issues, statistics, International Security. The course course ensures that each prerequisite prepares the student for success in subsequent coursework.

c) Student-Oriented Approach

The program emphasizes  the constructive alignment of learning outcomes with teaching activities and assessment methods. The methodology includes:

  • Case Studies and Simulations
  • Project-Based Learning
  • Research Essays and Legal Analysis
  • Group projects and interdisciplinary reports
  • Use of professional tools and software (p.sh. SPSS, R-Coding, etc.).

Also, visits to activities with foreign experts and lectures by local industry professionals are an integral part of the learning experience.

d) Learning for a Diverse Student Population

Teaching methods are tailored to support a wide range of students, including full-time, international, adult, and those with learning difficulties or disabilities. The use of blended learning and alternative assessment formats ensures inclusion and flexibility.

e)Assessment

Assessment methods are directly linked to learning outcomes and ensure objective and fair evaluation. Students are evaluated through exams, projects, legal analysis, and research essays. They receive timely feedback, with concrete guidance for further improvement and development.

f) Professional Practice

The program includes 9 ECTS of professional practice, organized in cooperation with Institutions and industry organizations in the field of Political Science and Security Studies. Students are supported by academic mentors and supervisors in the field, with clear learning objectives. Partners include companies such as:
