Infrastructure Supporting the Master of Science in Psychology

The Faculty of Psychology at UBT is supported by a robust infrastructure of academic and research facilities designed to enhance experiential learning, scientific inquiry, and professional development. These resources empower students to bridge theory with practice and engage in innovative, interdisciplinary research that addresses real-world psychological and societal challenges.

Key Facility: UBT Counseling Center – Lipjan Campus

A cornerstone of applied training in the MSc in Psychology is the UBT Counseling Center, located at the UBT campus in Lipjan. This center serves both educational and community service roles:

  • It provides students with direct exposure to professional counseling settings, allowing them to observe, assist, and gradually engage in supervised practice.
  • It supports the mental health and well-being of the wider UBT community, offering services such as psychological assessment, individual and group counseling, and psychoeducational workshops.
  • The center plays an integral role in practical skill development, ethical training, and internship placements for graduate psychology students.

Specialized and Interdisciplinary Research Facilities

In addition to the Counseling Center, psychology students and faculty benefit from access to UBT’s interdisciplinary laboratories and research centers that support a wide range of projects. These include:

  • Health Sciences Research Center – Collaborative research on mental and physical health integration, behavioral interventions, and healthcare psychology.
  • Media and Communication Sciences Research Center – Exploring the psychology of media, communication patterns, and the influence of digital environments on mental health.
  • Center for Research in Economics and Administrative Sciences – Research in organizational psychology, behavioral economics, and workplace well-being.
  • Center for Global and European Studies – Cultural and cross-national studies on mental health, migration, and psychological resilience.
  • Center for Law and Justice – Forensic and legal psychology collaborations, including human rights, trauma, and victim support research.

These centers offer psychology students opportunities to work on real-world projects, conduct interdisciplinary research, and collaborate with peers and faculty from other disciplines such as health, media, education, law, and economics.

A Dynamic Learning Environment

UBT’s investment in state-of-the-art infrastructure ensures that psychology students are trained in environments that reflect professional practice. Whether conducting research, engaging in clinical simulations, or participating in community outreach programs, students are immersed in a setting that promotes:

  • Scientific thinking and ethical research
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Innovation in psychological theory and practice
  • Application of psychological knowledge to contemporary challenges

The Faculty of Psychology is committed to providing an academic setting where students can thrive, contribute to meaningful research, and develop the practical competencies required for successful careers in psychology.
