Professors from Ohio Northern University have initiated a workshop in UBT, concerned with legal pedagogy

Professor from Ohio Northern University Howard and Kevin Hill have initiated a workshop devoted to UBT staff and students about issues related to legal pedagogy. This workshop will last three days. It is the first time in Kosovo that is being held such a workshop.

The opening session of this workshop will start on with a lecture from Kevin Hill. He will treat the topic related to ‘Techniques and Challenges of interactive teaching and learning”. This lecture was anticipated by some illustrating videos about the clairvoyant “Socratic” vision of coping with problems.

After following these videos, Kevin Hill provided students with an interactive case study, which was related to the worrisome obstacles that come as a result of ill-treatment of children pertaining to different nationalities. He availed from the occasion ask for the opinion of the participants about the challenges are faced by Kosovo as far as this issue is concerned and if there may be given a proper solution to this problems based on the existing legal framework of our country.

 

Moreover he emphasized that the professor is obliged to opt for the most suitable technique which is to be applied in the class and it is necessary to meddle the theoretical components with practical case studies in order to come up to a conclusion.

 

Whereas during the remaining of the first day of workshop, Hill and Fenton lectured about the techniques and objectives of interactive learning.  In addition they also discussed about the aspects of critical thinking, Socratic dialogue, and presentation techniques. The last but not the least from the importance is also the way of how to motivate students.

 

The workshop will continue tomorrow, with the active participation of the students.
