International Day of Geo-Information Systems Marked at UBT

As part of the “Geography Awareness Week, the UBT has marked the international day of geo-information systems also known as GIS Day.


The UBT, in cooperation with the ATI-KOS company, organized for the students of the faculty of Information Systems, Architecture, Efficient Energy, and Computer Sciences a workshop-mapathon to raise awareness among the students the importance of the geo-information, techniques of using maps, using of maps at websites, using platforms and open tools for the management of the electronic maps, as well as ways of making a contribution to completing electronic maps in Kosovo and elsewhere. 

 

UBT Rector Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi advised that the UBT had a fully accredited program for master studies on GIS, and given the fact that the UBT has a bachelor studies program on the information systems it offers a full cycle of studies for the students wishing to study information systems, namely geo-information.
