UBT Media and Communication Students Conduct Study Visit to Reporting House
30/10/2026Students from all three years of UBT’s Media and Communication programme conducted a study visit to Reporting House, where they explored an exhibition documenting Kosovo’s history through journalism, photography, video, personal testimonies, and contemporary art.
Through the exhibited materials, which portray events ranging from political repression and peaceful resistance to the 1998–1999 war, the displacement of the population, and the return of refugees, students had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the role of journalists in documenting history and the challenges of the profession under extraordinary circumstances.
The students were accompanied by Prof. Dr. Gjylije Rexha, teaching assistants Jehona Kapllani Ilazi, Edona Sulejmani, and Driton Hyseni, as well as UBTNews journalist Ernesa Aliu.
For the Media and Communication students, the visit represented an important opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge with the practical experiences and testimonies associated with the profession. It also encouraged reflection on journalists’ responsibilities, the importance of media freedom, and the role of accurate information, particularly in situations where journalistic work becomes more challenging and dangerous.
In addition to materials documenting the history of journalism and Kosovo, Reporting House also features artworks by artists from different countries, bringing together journalism, history, and art in a unique educational and cultural space.
