UBT welcomed international partners and academic institutions participating in the closing event of the SHAPE – Sport, Health, and the People: A Western Balkan University Network project, funded through the Erasmus+ programme, at the UBT Science, Innovation and Technology Park in Lipjan.

The closing event brought together representatives of partner universities from Kosovo, the region, and Europe to present the project’s results and impact, as well as discuss opportunities for the continuation of academic and institutional cooperation.

During the official opening of the event, UBT Rector, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, welcomed the partners to UBT and highlighted the importance of international cooperation in advancing education, scientific research, and the development of new academic programmes in the fields of sport and health.

The event was also attended by Dean of the UBT Faculty of Sport Sciences and Movement, Prof. Dr. Agron Thaçi, who contributed to discussions and presentations addressing academic and professional developments in the fields of sport and health.

Throughout the two-day event, partners presented the work carried out within the project’s seven work packages, including regional cooperation through sport, the development of the SHAPE digital ecosystem, labour market and educational needs analysis, thematic seminars, as well as the 60-ECTS Advanced Study Programme.

An important part of the programme focused on student experience, international mobility, online learning, and practical activities, while partners also discussed the sustainability of the project’s results, the continuation of the Western Balkan university network, cooperation in scientific research, and opportunities for new joint initiatives.

Through the SHAPE project, UBT continues to strengthen its role in building bridges of cooperation between Western Balkan universities and European institutions, contributing to the development of modern academic programmes and creating new opportunities for students and academic staff.
