05/06/2026

UBT Rector, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, was invited to participate in the International Summit on the Future of Education, organized by Coursera at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. The event brought together education leaders, technology experts, university executives, and global partners to discuss the transformation of education in the era of Artificial Intelligence (Coursera Summit 2026: The Future of Higher Education).

UBT’s participation in this prestigious forum represents another significant international recognition for the institution, which in recent years has evolved into one of the most innovative models of higher education in the world.

UBT was among the invited institutions selected to share its experiences and best practices as a concrete example of integrating technology, innovation, and Artificial Intelligence into academic processes and the preparation of students for the global labor market.

The central theme of the forum was the role of Artificial Intelligence in the future of education and how universities must adapt to rapid technological transformations. In this context, UBT was presented as one of Coursera’s strategic partners and as a successful model of collaboration between education, industry, and technology.

During the workshops organized as part of the forum, Rector Hajrizi presented UBT’s innovative ecosystem, showcasing how Artificial Intelligence has been integrated into teaching, scientific research, innovation, professional development, and industry engagement.

Participants had the opportunity to learn firsthand about UBT’s unique approach, which combines academic education with advanced technologies and the real needs of the labor market.

One of the topics that attracted particular interest was the strategic partnership between UBT and Coursera, through which UBT students gain access to more than 14,000 courses, training programs, professional certifications, and micro-credentials from the world’s most prestigious universities and companies.

This collaboration enables students not only to earn a university degree but also to obtain internationally recognized certifications, develop new professional competencies, and increase their employment opportunities in both local and global markets.

In his presentation, Rector Hajrizi emphasized that universities of the future must go beyond the traditional education model and create continuous opportunities for skills development, reskilling, and professional certification.

He highlighted that UBT has already built a model that connects education, technology, innovation, and industry within a single ecosystem—UBT Smart City—strongly supported by Artificial Intelligence.

In addition to presentations and thematic discussions, the forum also served as an important platform for expanding UBT’s international cooperation.

During meetings with leaders of universities and academic institutions from various countries, Rector Hajrizi established new bridges of collaboration, which are expected to result in joint research projects, academic programs, student exchanges, and innovative initiatives in the fields of education and technology.

UBT’s invitation to a forum of this level is no coincidence. It is the result of the institution’s continuous commitment to the digital transformation of education, investments in technology, the development of innovative teaching models, and the establishment of strategic partnerships with leading organizations and institutions worldwide.

These achievements have positioned UBT as one of the most dynamic and future-oriented institutions in Southeast Europe, ranking among the world’s most innovative universities.

The competencies, high employment rate, and successful careers of UBT students and alumni are now recognized worldwide. As a result, UBT has earned strong international recognition and a distinguished reputation for academic excellence and professional development.

For Kosovo, UBT’s presentation at the University of Oxford represents clear evidence that an institution from Kosovo is now an active participant in global discussions and developments concerning the future of education and technology.

It confirms that the innovative models developed at UBT in Kosovo are attracting the attention of some of the world’s most prestigious universities, organizations, and platforms.

Participation in this forum reaffirms UBT’s position as a leader in transforming education through technology and Artificial Intelligence, while continuing to create new opportunities for students, academics, and society in a rapidly changing world.
