The international workshop “Journalism for Juniors (J4J) – Mobile Journalism Workshop”, organized by UBT in collaboration with TRT and the Yunus Emre Institute, successfully concluded, providing a valuable professional experience for students of UBT’s Faculty of Media and Communication, as well as for participants from UBT International Smart Schools.

The workshop served as both an educational and practical platform, empowering young participants with contemporary skills in mobile journalism, creative storytelling, and digital content production with social impact.

During the workshop, participants engaged in intensive sessions covering the fundamentals of journalism, professional ethics, digital storytelling, and the use of mobile tools for filming, editing, and distributing media content.

Through hands-on fieldwork, students and young participants had the opportunity to create authentic video stories, crafted from diverse perspectives and tailored for digital platforms.

A highlight of the event was the Digital Video Competition, featuring group screenings of the video stories prepared by participants. The submissions were evaluated by a professional jury composed of TRT journalists and experts, who provided constructive feedback and professional guidance, recognizing the creativity, visual approach, and social message of the videos.

The students’ work was celebrated as a testament to their creative potential and readiness to face the challenges of modern journalism, demonstrating that mobile journalism is a powerful tool for telling real, impactful stories.

The workshop concluded with a certificate ceremony, honoring the dedication and efforts of all participants throughout the training process. The event highlighted the importance of international collaboration in educating the next generation of journalists and reaffirmed UBT’s role as an institution that promotes practical education, innovation, and direct engagement with the media industry.
