09/10/2025The Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, has been invited by the Regional Challenge Fund (RCF) to participate in the 2025 Annual Regional Conference, which this year is being held in Budva and brings together prominent personalities from the fields of education, business, and policymaking across the Western Balkans.
This regional event addresses key issues related to economic development, good governance, sustainability, and building competitive capacities in the era of artificial intelligence and automation.
In addition to Rector Hajrizi, the event is attended by Prof. Dr. Besnik Skenderi, Director of the Department for Education and Professional Development at UBT.
During the panel discussion titled “AI, Automation & Skills: Is the Western Balkans Ready?”, Rector Hajrizi presented his and UBT’s vision on how the region can benefit from integrating artificial intelligence into the education system and business sector.
He emphasized that preparing professionals for the digital era requires closer collaboration between universities, public institutions, and the private sector, creating bridges that ensure sustainable development and quality employment opportunities for youth.
According to him, artificial intelligence should be viewed as a tool that empowers both individuals and society, enabling smarter decision-making, more efficient processes, and responsible economic growth.
The RCF 2025 Conference brings together academics, business leaders, and policymakers, providing a comprehensive platform for idea exchange, strategy development, and partnership building.
