Admission requirements and criteria
The requirements and criteria for admission to the study program, as well as all procedures, are clearly and comprehensively defined and publicly available. (Admission criteria refer to local and international students, with national requirements specified separately for Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, including additional assessments of knowledge and skills, etc.)
UBT has a clearly defined, comprehensive, and well-published set of requirements and criteria for admission to the BSc in Public Health and Medical Sciences program. The admission process complies with the relevant national regulations, such as Article 29 of the Law on Higher Education in Kosovo, and internal rules set by the Faculty Council.
National requirements:
For local students: Applicants must have completed secondary education and passed the Matura (High School Graduation) Exam. The admission process begins with a public call, and students are required to submit a set of documents for review, including the high school diploma. The Faculty Council evaluates candidates based on specific criteria, such as the Grade Point Average (GPA), which must be at least 3.0 for admission.
For international students: The process requires recognition and equivalence of their secondary education diplomas through the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation of Kosovo. This ensures that international applicants meet national education standards before applying.
Additional admission criteria:
For students coming from international education systems, such as those with U.S. diplomas, there is a procedure to ensure GPA equivalence aligns with the Kosovo grading system. This guarantees fairness and consistency in admitting students from diverse educational backgrounds.
Admission criteria include completion of secondary education, a GPA of 3.5 according to the Kosovo system, and successful passing of the Matura exam.
If the language of instruction is English (which requires special program accreditation), an additional language proficiency criterion applies: a minimum score of 110 on the computer-based TOEFL test or an equivalent C1 level certification. TOEFL testing is also organized at UBT College, which holds a license to conduct such exams in Kosovo.
