Labs, Centers and Institutes

Students at the Faculty of Art and Design at UBT have access to a unique creative and research ecosystem, enabling them to experiment, develop projects, and prepare for their professional careers.

This includes:

  • Design and Fashion Laboratories – equipped with professional tools for prototyping, working with textiles, draping, 3D modeling, and digital programs such as CLO3D, Photoshop, as well as AR/VR platforms for contemporary design.
  • Digital Art and Media Laboratory – spaces for developing animation, gaming, virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), visual effects (VFX), and the creation of multimedia content for creative and academic projects.
  • Studios and Stages for Dramatic Arts – where students produce theatrical performances, sustainable scenography, and experiments with choreography supported by technology and artificial intelligence.
  • Advanced Music and Digital Production Studios – including an Audio Production Studio with professional recording and mixing equipment, vocal performance studios, facilities for post-production and multimedia editing, and an amphitheater for choir and ensemble rehearsals. Students also have access to professional software such as Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Izotope, Waves, Melodyne, Arturia V Collection, and VR platforms for live and musical simulation.
  • Research Center for Design, Fashion, and Media – supporting research projects and international collaborations through Horizon Europe, the Western Balkans Research & Innovation Initiative, and other global networks.
  • Institute for the Creative Industry – a dedicated platform that connects students with the private sector, galleries, theaters, and creative companies for real projects, professional internships, and publications.
  • UBT Central Library and Knowledge Center – housing over 250,000 books and digital collections, including more than 1,000 art and design titles from Phaidon Press, along with access to international databases such as JSTOR, EBSCO, and Sage Journals, combined with spaces for individual and group work.

These resources create a comprehensive environment where students combine theory with practice, build internationally competitive portfolios, and become part of creative networks that prepare them for successful careers in Kosovo and beyond.
