UBT Selected for the Second Time as a Winner of the Regional Challenge Fund (RCF)

UBT has once again been selected as a recipient of Call 4 of the Regional Challenge Fund (RCF), reaffirming its position as a leading institution connecting professional education with economic development and digital transformation.

As part of this initiative, UBT will implement the project: “Enhancing Accredited IT & Electronics Programs with Cloud and AI Data Analytics.”

Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, emphasized:

“This project represents a strategic step in consolidating our integrated education model within the UBT ecosystem. Through Smart Schools, 5G infrastructure, innovative laboratories, and the Smart City concept, we are creating an environment where technology is not only learned theoretically but applied in real practice. Integrating Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence at early stages of professional education will significantly enhance the competitiveness of our youth and position Kosovo as an active participant in the European digital economy.”

The Department for Education and Professional Development, led by Dr. Besnik Skenderi, will ensure close alignment between updated curricula, professional standards, and labor market needs, creating a sustainable framework for developing practical skills among young people.

The project is funded by RCF4 with €394,000.00, while the total project value is €881,300.00, including €487,300.00 co-financing from UBT.

Implementation will be carried out in partnership with Quantix L.L.C., ALT SH.P.K., and Edutask L.L.C., forming a strong consortium aimed at modernizing accredited programs through the integration of Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Analytics.

The project will be implemented in UBT International Smart Schools – TIK High Schools in Prishtina and Prizren, operating within UBT’s innovative ecosystem. Through new laboratories, modern equipment, and updated curricula, students will gain hands-on experience with advanced technologies, preparing them for the European labor market from the early stages of professional education.

This is the second RCF project awarded to UBT, following the success in Call 3 with the project “Application Developer with AI Integration.”
