UBT Rector Edmond Hajrizi officially becomes a Member of the European Academy of Sciences

UBT Rector Edmond Hajrizi has become a member of the European Academy of Sciences, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to science and technology, becoming the first and only scientist from Kosova to join this prestigious institution. The membership diploma was presented during a solemn ceremony by the President and Vice President of the Academy at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland.

This membership represents international recognition of Rector Hajrizi’s contribution to the advancement of higher education, scientific research, and innovation in Kosova, while also strengthening the country’s ties with the European and global academic community.

“This is an extraordinarily important moment, not only for me personally, but also for Kosova and our scientific community. My membership in the European Academy of Sciences opens the doors of this prestigious academy to our country and to future generations of Kosovar scientists,” said Rector Hajrizi.

Rector Hajrizi emphasized the importance and significance of this membership, expressing his gratitude and sharing his vision for the future.

“This membership represents recognition of my more than 30 years of work in the fields of science and technology, and it gives me additional motivation to continue my commitment to strengthening quality education, advancing scientific research, and connecting Kosova’s academic institutions with European networks of knowledge and innovation. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all those who contributed to my nomination and evaluation. Special thanks go to my family and my colleagues for their continuous support and professional collaboration throughout all these years,” Rector Hajrizi stated.

The European Academy of Sciences is renowned for promoting scientific excellence, interdisciplinary research, and innovation, and includes among its members internationally renowned scholars, including Nobel Prize laureates.
