UBT Organizes the Creative Industries Fair in Partnership with UNDP Kosova
10/03/2025UBT’s Smart City in Lipjan became today the meeting point of creative industries. This event, organized in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Kosova, provided a dynamic platform for local start-ups to present their ideas, connect with mentors, and explore new opportunities within Kosova’s creative industries.
The event opened with speeches from distinguished guests, including the Ambassador of Luxembourg to Kosova, Eric Dietz, the UNDP Kosova Resident Representative, Nuno Queirós, and the UBT Rector, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi.
The fair showcased several start-ups that had participated in a comprehensive mentoring program developed by UBT in partnership with UNDP Kosova. Over the course of several months, these start-ups received tailored guidance, product simulations, and expert visits to help refine their ideas and prepare for market entry.
In total, 10 start-ups were selected to take part in the program, each bringing forward creative solutions addressing key industry challenges. From sustainable product design to AI-powered platforms, the variety of projects highlighted the immense potential of Kosova’s creative sector.
Some of the standout start-ups included:
- Zonda Creative L.L.C.: Developing AR/VR solutions for educational purposes.
- AA Izolimi: Repurposing polyurethane waste into lightweight concrete, supporting sustainable construction.
- The Brain Maze: An interactive 3D educational platform designed to enhance student engagement.
- Bling Marketing: Providing tailored digital marketing solutions for SMEs.
- Dare to Create: An AI-powered platform for interior and product design professionals.

The mentoring and coaching program was essential in equipping these start-ups with the necessary tools to succeed in a competitive market. Each start-up was paired with an industry expert who provided personalized coaching in areas such as business strategy, financial planning, and operational growth.
The program also included product simulations, where start-ups tested and refined their Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) in UBT’s mentoring studios. Furthermore, hands-on support through expert visits provided valuable insights into market needs and possible growth strategies.
During the event, Rector Hajrizi emphasized the importance of the creative industry as a key factor for Kosova’s economic and social transformation. He underlined that UBT, through its Smart City and continuous investment in innovation, is committed to supporting talent, fostering collaboration, and creating a sustainable ecosystem for young entrepreneurs.
“This initiative reflects UBT’s unwavering commitment to supporting start-ups, young innovators, and industry pioneers in Kosova. The diversity of projects we see today demonstrates the limitless opportunities of Kosova’s creative sector,” said Rector Hajrizi.
The Creative Industries Fair highlighted the power of collaboration and mentoring, showcasing the impressive progress of the participating start-ups. Looking ahead, UBT plans to continue supporting these initiatives by offering mentorship, infrastructure, and networking opportunities, while further expanding innovation programs to better integrate industry, academia, and policymakers.
On the other hand, Prof. Besnik Skenderi, Director of the Department for Education and Professional Development at UBT, stressed the importance of cooperation in empowering Kosova’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and fostering collaboration between start-ups and industry mentors.
“This event is not only an opportunity to showcase new ideas but also to strengthen connections between the entrepreneurial community and experts. It is an excellent chance to develop and reinforce the creative sector in Kosova and to contribute to the sustainable growth of the industry,” said Prof. Skenderi.
The Creative Industries Fair not only showcased the talents of Kosova’s young innovators but also offered valuable opportunities for discussions and collaborations that will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the future of the creative sector.
