Two professors from Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences in Latvia, Prof. Dr. Ilgvars Abols and Prof. Dr. Iveta Druva-Druvaskalne visited UBT under the Erasmus+program to concretize the agreement between our two institutions and to explore new cooperation opportunities, including the mobility of students and academic staff.

During the visit, they held meetings with UBT International Office officials, where they took the opportunity to discuss academic cooperation, possible joint projects and applications for new funds within Erasmus+/KE171.

The professors also attended an informative session for UBT students on their opportunities for study in Latvia, using precisely the agreement on staff and student mobility. Professors continued their visit to UBT Dukagjini Center and were closely acquainted with the wise city of UBT in Lipjan, the modern infrastructure and the support that UBT offers graduates.

One of the main activities was the roundtable with students and academic staff of the tourism program, where the best practices in tourism and innovative technologies in this field were discussed.

During their stay, the professors also explored the city of Peja, where, in the escort of Prof. Kushtrim Dreshaj, visited the City Museum, Rugova and the attractions of mountain tourism, and held meetings with UBT partners in the sector. One of the most significant meetings in Peja was that with the Mayor, Mr. Gazmend Muhaxheri, where they discussed the possibilities of cooperation in issues related to tourism development in the city of Peja.

The visit ended with an exploration of the capital, Pristina, marking another important step in expanding UBT partnerships with higher education institutions from the international arena and creating new opportunities for students and academic staff.
