Tourism is a key sector for the economic and sustainable development of Kosovo, requiring professionals trained according to the best international practices. To make this possible, UBT has signed a Double Degree agreement with IMC Krems – University of Applied Sciences in Austria, one of Europe’s most successful models in tourism education.

Based on this agreement, Tourism students at UBT will study two years in Kosovo and their final year in Austria, earning two university diplomas – one from UBT and one from IMC Krems.

The agreement was signed in Austria by UBT President, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, who was hosted by the founder and chairman of the supervisory board of IMC Krems, Heinz Boyer, CEO Udo Brändle, Head of International Relations Iris Waringer, and Chen Yang, responsible for international projects.

“This collaboration is proof of UBT’s international orientation and our commitment to provide students with unique opportunities that enhance the quality of their studies and open doors to international careers,” said Rector Hajrizi.

This Double Degree program is set to become one of the main pillars for the development of tourism in Kosovo, preparing new generations of professionals who will contribute to promoting the country as a tourist destination and to raising the standards of the hospitality industry.

Austria is considered one of the most successful models in the field of professional education for tourism and hospitality, offering an advanced and practice-oriented learning system.
